About me

My name is Nanette Barrett; I am married with three children, working as an independent midwife at Kent Midwifery Practice.  My passion for midwifery developed soon after the birth of my first child.  The midwife who cared for me during my pregnancy and birth gave me the confidence to make informed choices. This inspired me to help other women and their families.

I am registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) and Independent Midwives Association (IMA).

Philosophy of practice

The majority of women and their partners are not having the benefit of antenatal classes.  This is leaving a vast number of women and partners with no guidance in decision making at an important and life changing time.
Here at Antenatal services you can experience individual classes tailored to meet your personal needs. 

I believe passionately in natural childbirth but truly believe women should have a choice in their pregnancy and birth.  The only way women can achieve this is by having classes that are well informed and evidence based.  This enables you to be confident in the decisions and choices you make.
